Krissy Boyd, CNM & IBCLC

A strong desire to work in community birth led my family to move to North Carolina in 2017, where I began working at a freestanding birth center. I first worked with midwives as a Labor & Delivery RN in Georgia while my husband served in the Navy. These midwives cared for me through infertility and
pregnancy while he was deployed. By witnessing the midwifery model of care through the lens of the nurse supporting women and as a client, my spark for midwifery began. I am committed to serving women and families by protecting the sacred birth space and partnering with you for your home birth.

I received my nursing degree from South Georgia College in May 2009 and began working in the hospital mother/baby unit. My career has included working in Labor & Delivery, Level II NICU,  well-baby nursery, and as a hospital-based lactation consultant. I attended Frontier Nursing University, completing the Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery program in June 2022, becoming a certified nurse-midwife in North Carolina. I have a total of 13 years of experience in caring for women both in and out of the hospital. I have guided almost 100 babies safely into the world. I look forward to serving you and your family.

My husband and I have been married for 17 years and live with our boys, Luke (12) and Levi (9), in Cary. I enjoy reading and sitting on the porch in my free time and our family always enjoys some healthy competition in the form of a board game. I find that each stage of parenting and season of life brings new lessons both personally and
professionally.
