Ceara was born and raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina until moving to Charlotte where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She is currently pursuing her master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Ceara has been interested in pregnancy and birth for as long as she can remember and was fortunate enough to attend the birth of her youngest sister as a senior in high school.  Ceara learned about the role of a doula in undergrad and a seed was planted. She finally had a chance to pursue her interest by being trained and serving as a doula with the Birth Partners Programs at UNC Medical Center beginning in September 2018.  In an effort to continue to further her knowledge and increase opportunities to support families, Ceara is pursuing certification as a childbirth doula through DONA International.

All that Ceara does is based on what God leads her to do.  She believes that supporting women is her God given purpose.  Ceara is especially passionate about serving those for whom pregnancy and birth may be uniquely challenging including women of color, adolescents, LGBTQ+ families.  Her desire as a doula is for all families to have an empowering, affirming, and safe birth experience.

In her free time, you can find Ceara curled up on the couch with a good book,  binge watching Netflix or Hulu, or writing in her journal.
